SARs - Review Scenarios

Scenario:

A suspect furnishes a document for identification (such as a drivers license or military ID) which the cage cashier suspects is altered in connection with the completion of a CTR on the BSA e-Filing System.  What is this known as? 

Answer:

Criminal Act - possibly.  The customer may be attempting to circumvent the Title 31 reporting requirements by providing an ID that has been altered.  If this is true, the customer is also committing fraud.
