Currency Transaction Reports

The law was strengthened by the enactment of the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1986, which included the Money Laundering Control Act of 1986, thereby making Money Laundering a Federal Offense.

In September 1994, Congress passed the Money Laundering Suppression Act, which authorized the Treasury Dept. to write regulations bringing Tribal Casinos under the Bank Secrecy Act of 1970. Thus, Tribal Casinos that have Gross Annual Gaming Revenue in excess of $1 Million are subject to the regulations issued under Title 31. The Bank Secrecy Act requires Casino Personnel to e-file IRS Currency Transaction Reports.
